19. The Beasts

The false trinity is completed in Revelation 13 as the dragon is joined by a beast from the sea and another from the land. These terrifying monsters call back to the nations and kings in the vision of Daniel 7. John explicitly tells us what Revelation 13 is for: “This is a call for the endurance and faith of the saints… This calls for wisdom” (v. 11, 18). As we walk through this troubling chapter and its warnings about deception and temptation we will refer back to Daniel 7 to stoke the fires of our faith in our coming King, the glorious Son of Man!
