4. Peace in the King – December 24, 2017

(Micah 5:1-5) Only Jesus can give you peace, since He is the Almighty, Eternal King. Only Jesus will give you peace, since He is the Merciful Savior.

“But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah… from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel… And he shall stand and shepherd his flock in the strength of the LORD… And he shall be their peace.” Micah 5:2,4-5

3. Joy in the Savior – December 17, 2017

(Isaiah 9:1-7) The light of hope shines into the darkness of despair in the face of a helpless baby. The promises of joy, freedom and peace depend on this child. Joy is found in Jesus’ birth as the child-Savior. Freedom is found in Jesus’ death and resurrection as the Conquering King. Peace is found in Jesus’ return as the Almighty God. 

“The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the shadow of death a light has dawned… for to us a child is born, to us a son is given.” Isaiah 9:2,6

2. The Love of the Father – December 10, 2017

(Galatians 4:3-7) God has proven His love by sending a Glorious Savior and offering a Glorious Salvation. The three perfections of Jesus the Savior and the four gifts God offers in Christ.

“When the fullness of time had come, God sent his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law so that we might receive adoption as sons.” Galatians 4:4

1. Faith Conquers Fear – December 3, 2017

(Isaiah 7:10-15; Matt. 1:18-25) How a Carpenter succeeded where a King failed. The faith of Joseph in contrast to the rebellion and idolatry of Ahaz. Joseph’s faith was firmly rooted in the Covenant God of Israel.   

“Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” Matthew 1:20-21
