9. Endurance

Jesus concludes the beautifully balanced beatitudes with a special blessing on those who are persecuted for His name and for righteousness. As those who follow a Master who was severely persecuted, why should we expect different treatment than He received? This week we will first see why persecution is a blessing and then what kind of persecution is a blessing. In the end we are faced with a question: which kingdom are we living for? Do we really want Jesus and His kingdom? Or do we prefer the comforts of this world and refuse to risk them for a closer association with the Lord Jesus?
