9. Redeeming Love

God’s love is powerful and life-changing. Psalm 107 is an extended reflection on the transforming, redeeming love of God. The writer presents four directions people go (east, west, north, south), each direction representing a stage in Israel’s story. We can turn to the desert of self-reliance (east); to the stronghold of self-indulgence (west); to the city of temptation (north); or to the chaotic sea of this world (south). But there is only one promised land where we can find true blessing and peace! Hear the call of Psalm 107 to come home, to come back to Jesus and experience (again) the power of His steadfast love!
