2. The Heart of the Matter

At the heart of the sermon on the mount, right after the Lord’s Prayer, Jesus addresses the issue of eternal treasure and worry. And yes, the two things are closely related. This part of Matthew 6 invites us to ponder three questions: 1) what does your heart love? 2) What do you worry about? and 3) What do you live for? To find the answers to these questions Jesus basically says: first, follow the money; then follow your thoughts and finally, follow your worries. Those things will show you the answers to the questions.
