First, it challenges you to get in the game as a committed follower of Jesus. Then it shows you specific steps to follow on your journey toward wholehearted devotion to Christ. Believers never stop running these bases. Like a good baseball team, we keep trying to get new players in the game, more runners on base and more coming home across the plate. As you keep playing, you become a coach helping others follow the path that had such an impact on you.

First Base – Love God
The book of Philippians shows what it means to Rejoice in the Lord – to find our happiness in Him alone as we seek to love Him with all of our hearts.
Second Base – Grow in Christ
Romans 8 challenges us to Keep Moving Forward actively pursuing growth in Christ. Believers grow best in regular fellowship with one another so we urge all Oakwood regulars to participate in a Community Group.
Third Base – Serve the Church
John 13 and Romans 12 exhort us to Serve the Church. A follower of Christ not only needs to be connected in relationship in a local church, but we are called to a life of loving and serving one another. To accomplish this, all believers have been filled with the Spirit and empowered with a spiritual gift (or two) specifically designed to build up your local church.
Home Plate – Reach the World
Jesus has clearly commissioned all of his followers to accomplish the mission of making disciples of all nations. As we seek to develop fully devoted followers of Christ, we prayerfully seek to send out workers into the global harvest field to Reach the World with the Gospel.
