21. How to Pray

The Lord Jesus taught us what not to do in prayer, and now He shows us how to pray. The Lord’s Prayer is genuinely the best prayer ever prayed and the best model for us to follow as we learn the practice of prayer. There are five steps Jesus outlines for us: beginning with worship and ending with thanksgiving. At the center we ask for what we need as a family, “Give us this day our daily bread.” And that petition is surrounded by submission and faith. Let’s practice this model prayer together on Sunday even as we follow these steps day by day in our own homes.
