What has God entrusted to you? Everything you have and all that you are is a gift from God to manage on His behalf. Your time, talent and treasure are resources the Lord has given you for this short life to use for His glory and His kingdom purposes. This is not a series on financial giving, though our use of money does reveal our hearts. This is a series on being good stewards – good managers – of every part of our lives. Come be encouraged by the manifold grace of God in your life and the privilege it is to use it – even your weaknesses and failures – for your Master.

7. Gospel Partnership

As we conclude our series on Stewardship we turn to the end of the book of Philippians where Paul thanks this generous church family for their support of his ministry. He talks about their “partnership in the gospel” (1:5; 4:15) and how they shared in his troubles...

Koinonia

"I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in...

The Treasure Principle

"Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal." Matthew 6:19-20 As we...

6. The Grace of Giving

We often think of financial giving as a sacrifice. But Paul presents giving as a gift of grace that brings the giver as many benefits as it provides for the recipient. And that should make sense, because whenever we are like the Lord Jesus - who gave his life away in...

5. Stewarding Our Failure

This Sunday we will be encouraged to steward our failures for our growth and God's glory. Learning from Peter and others in the Bible, we will see three common ways we fail and how to learn from those experiences. Read John 21 to be reminded of the amazing grace of...

4. Stewarding Our Hearts

This week we will focus on “Stewarding our Hearts,” in worship and prayer. Our service will be built around the Lord’s Prayer and will give us time to look up to the Lord in praise and adoration – “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.” In the light of His...

3. Stewarding the Gospel

Sidney Johnson unpacks Philippians 1:12-18 for us how a kingdom perspective keeps us focused on mission even when we face difficult circumstances, difficult people and difficult emotions. Imagine the apostle Paul chained to a Roman soldier, unable to share the gospel...

2. The Heart of the Matter

At the heart of the sermon on the mount, right after the Lord’s Prayer, Jesus addresses the issue of eternal treasure and worry. And yes, the two things are closely related. This part of Matthew 6 invites us to ponder three questions: 1) what does your heart love? 2)...

1. Stewardship

As we begin a short series on stewardship we will begin with the end in mind - the day we will stand before King Jesus and give an account of our lives. Stewardship is the faithful management of everything God has entrusted to us. Matthew 25 shows us three key...
